2020 BOAT  Resolutions

A RESOLUTION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS FOR SCOTT WILLIAMS, RETIRED BUILDING OFFICIAL FOR THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE

WHEREAS, the Building Officials Association of Texas Board of Directors do hereby wish to recognize Scott Williams on this day, September 30, 2020; and,

WHEREAS, the Building Officials Association of Texas Board of Directors do hereby pay tribute to retiring BOAT member Scott Williams, Building Official for the City of Grapevine; and,

WHEREAS, this distinguishes Scott’s expertise and guidance to the North Texas Council of Governments Regional Code Coordinating Committee and Building Advisory Board and,

WHEREAS, this recognizes Scott’s lifelong commitment and contribution to creating and sustaining healthy, safe and vibrant communities; and,

WHEREAS, Scott Williams has provided support and volunteer efforts to promote the Building Officials Association of Texas and the profession of building officials across the State of Texas:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we extend our most sincere appreciation to Scott Williams for his contributions to the safety and security of the public in the built environment as well as the contributions to the Building Officials Association of Texas.  This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the BOAT Board of Directors.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS CONCERNING WILLIE STEVENSON, RETIRED BUILDING OFFICIAL FOR THE CITY OF IRVING

WHEREAS, the Board members of the Building Officials Association of Texas are assembled in Houston, Texas, on February 17, 2020; and,

WHEREAS, the Building Officials Association of Texas  Board of Directors do hereby wish to pay tribute to retiring BOAT member Willie Stevenson, Building Official for the City of Cleburne; and,

WHEREAS, this award recognizes Willie’s lifelong commitment and contribution to creating and sustaining healthy, safe and vibrant communities; and,

WHEREAS, Willie Stevenson has provided unwavering support and volunteer efforts to promote the Building Officials Association of Texas and the profession of building officials across the State of Texas:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we extend our most sincere appreciation to Willie Stevenson for his contributions to the safety and security of the public in the built environment as well as the contributions to the Building Officials Association of Texas.  This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the membership.

2019 BOAT  Resolutions

A RESOLUTION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS CONCERNING GREG CONTRERAS, RETIRED CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL FOR THE CITY OF DUNCANVILLE

WHEREAS, the Building Officials Association of Texas Board of Directors and its members are assembled at the Annual BOAT Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on August 7-9, 2019; and,

WHEREAS, we do hereby pay tribute to BOAT Member Greg Contreras, retired from the City of Duncanville; and,

WHEREAS, this award recognizes his commitment and contribution of serving for many years at BOAT’s North Texas BPI educational program; and,

WHEREAS, with Greg’s help, the North Texas BPI has successfully provided quality education to thousands of building inspection and code enforcement personnel around the state; and,

WHEREAS, without the tremendous commitment and efforts from Greg, the North Texas BPI program would not be as productive as it is today; and,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we extend our most sincere appreciation to Greg Contreras and award and recognize him as an Honorary BOAT Member. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the membership.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS CONCERNING LAWRENCE CROW, RETIRED CHIEF FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR THE CITY OF IRVING

WHEREAS, the Building Officials Association of Texas Board of Directors and its members are assembled at the Annual BOAT Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on August 7-9, 2019; and,

WHEREAS, we do hereby pay tribute to BOAT past Board Member and past President, Lawrence Crow, retired from the City of Irving; and,

WHEREAS, this award recognizes his commitment and contribution to expanding and continually improving BOAT and most notably BOAT’s BPI educational program; and,

WHEREAS, with Lawrence’s help, the Building Professionals Institute has grown to four locations around the state; and,

WHEREAS, without the tremendous commitment and efforts from Lawrence, the BPI program would not be as productive as it is today; and,

WHEREAS, multiple communities have benefited from Lawrence’s leadership in providing quality education to staff; and,

WHEREAS, Lawrence has provided leadership and mentoring to many of the past and current Board members and lasting leadership for the future of this Chapter; and,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we extend our most sincere appreciation to Lawrence Crow and award and recognize him as an Honorary BOAT Member. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the membership.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS CONCERNING RANDY CHILDERS, CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL FOR THE CITY OF WACO

WHEREAS, the Building Officials Association of Texas Board of Directors and its members are assembled at the Annual BOAT Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on August 7-9, 2019; and,

WHEREAS, we do hereby pay tribute to BOAT past Board Member and past President, Randy Childers, Chief Building Official for the City of Waco; and,

WHEREAS, this award recognizes his commitment and contribution to expanding and continually improving BOAT’s image and impact on the State of Texas; and,

WHEREAS, without the tremendous commitment and efforts from Randy, BOAT would not be as organized, responsive, productive and successful as it is today; and,

WHEREAS, multiple communities have benefited from Randy’s leadership in this Chapter and with TML; and,

WHEREAS, Randy has provided leadership and mentoring to many of the past and current Board members and lasting leadership for the future of this Chapter; and,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we extend our most sincere appreciation to Randy Childers and award and recognize him as an Honorary BOAT Member. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the membership.
